Initial lactation consults include a detailed maternal/baby medical history, a weighted feed to assess for milk transfer, a breast exam (if applicable/desired) and an oral assessment for baby. We’ll leave you with a detailed, personalized plan of care and access to us via email for 1-week following your session.

Follow-Up Lactation Consult

For all existing families, follow-up sessions allow us to ensure that babies are continuing to thrive and parents are getting the support they need. These sessions also include a pre-and-post feed weight, general feeding and newborn care education, and a personalized plan of care.

Prenatal Lactation Consult

Lactation education begins during pregnancy, before your little one arrives. Research shows that access to prenatal lactation education promotes higher breastfeeding initiation rates and longer breastfeeding duration. You’ll learn what normal newborn behavior looks like and know exactly how those earliest hours and days will unfold.

Flange Fitting/Pump & Bottle Consult/Triage

For more specific needs like flange fittings, pumping and bottle support, or triaging potential breast health concerns (clogged ducts, potential mastitis, etc.) these sessions allow us to focus on what’s happening now that you’ve established the basics and have worked with us before.

Prenatal Consult (Office), Half Day of Postpartum Lactation Care At Home

The only time one of our IBCLC lactation consultants can spend many feeds with you in your own home. You’ll have 4-hours of time to practice more than one feed, learn in real time what certain cues from your newborn mean, how to babywear, swaddle, soothe, and feed in back-to-back sessions.
