“I am so glad I took Sarah’s Booby Basics class. I had already done some reading on breastfeeding, but getting a chance to really go into detail on the subject and ask my MANY questions made all the difference! A lot of what friends and family tell you is not always best so it’s really worth it to take a course. Sarah’s class is comfortable, friendly and informative. It actually got me excited to breastfeed! Definitely recommend :)”
“Before my son was born, I had heard that breastfeeding could be challenging, so I did everything I could to prepare - took a class, read books and articles, watched videos. I thought I was well-prepared, but that kind of education can only take you so far. It’s completely different once you’re actually doing it. Once I got home with my little one, I was immediately flooded with questions - Why is he suddenly eating more often than before? Will it hurt my supply if he goes longer than usual between feedings? What’s normal and what’s cause for concern? Sarah has been a LIFESAVER on this journey! She listens to my concerns, asks me questions to understand exactly where my son is in his development, and then offers her expert advice to help me get over my concerns and move forward. Her warm encouragement is so comforting! I’ve tried Googling for answers many times, and there’s so much conflicting information I didn’t know what to believe. Having Sarah as a partner on this journey has truly been invaluable! ”
“Receiving Sarah’s message in the middle of a tough feeding with my ten day old son was such a welcome relief. She made herself immediately available and coached and troubleshot my breastfeeding issues with me over the phone and offered to meet in person at my convenience. Her advice was exactly what I needed and I was able to remedy my son’s latch within a few days, putting our breastfeeding journey back on track.”
“Sarah gave me the confidence to breast feed my preemie. I was tied to the pump, afraid to put my son on the boob, but with Sarah’s guidance and words of encouragement I got over my fear. Sarah also gave me wonderful tips to increase my milk production. My son is now 7 months old and we’re still breastfeeding and I owe a lot of that to Sarah! ”
“Sarah is so sweet and helpful! I’m a new mother with lots of questions and had the hardest time breastfeeding. I was trying to learn to breastfeed on my own for the first 3 weeks and was in so much pain. Someone recommended Sarah to me and I am SO glad they did! She answered all my questions, made sure my baby was getting enough milk, and gave me a plan on when to pump and feed. I felt so relieved and more confident in my breastfeeding THAT day!! The best part is that I’m no longer in pain!!!!! I wish I didn’t wait so long! Sarah is also available to answer any questions through text and has reached out to me to check up! She truly cares and I’m so grateful to her!”
“In search of information regarding lactation education, my husband and I came across IMMA. We took Sarah’s “Prenatal Booby Basics” course and simply put, were blown away. As a lactation consultant and instructor, Sarah is knowledgeable, supportive, honest, and comforting. She provided us with useful information and tips in a comfortable setting that not only alleviated the anxieties of first-time parents but also allowed us to walk away from her class feeling confident and prepared. We are so grateful to have met her and taken this course. She was attentive to our questions and authentic in her ways of teaching and guidance. We are so grateful to Sarah...for her knowledge, kindness, and the resources that are IMMA.”
“We’re so glad we went to Sarah’s breastfeeding basics class! After learning about what we can expect and what problems we might encounter, I feel less nervous—it’s also nice to have a resource for after our baby is born.
The class was a good mix of instruction and discussion, and she gave us lots specific tools and strategies (way more than I got from reading the breastfeeding chapter in a baby book). Even though she gives you lots of info about the benefits of breastfeeding, she’s never pushy about it. Sarah is knowledgable and welcoming—husbands and partners are encouraged to attend and ask questions.”
“Sarah’s (class) was thorough, informative and delivered the information in a way that was easy to grasp. I learned a ton and definitely feel more prepared and better at ease than I did before taking her class.”
“I cannot say enough good things about Sarah and her approach to feeding your baby. She is so kind, informative and caring. Her priority is helping you meet your breastfeeding goals. Her breastfeeding class is so well thought out and informative, plus, she loves to answer your questions. She’s a gem in the postpartum world, and we need more people like her.”
“This class was GREAT! Sarah is so knowledgeable, and the whole experience was enjoyable. The 3hrs FLEW by (with snacks and bathroom breaks thoughtfully considered)! I’m the type that does tons of research beforehand, but there was still so much to learn and things like proper latch you just can’t learn from a book or the Internet. I also liked that it was a small class so it felt like a one-on-one session where she got to understand each of our individual goals and needs, but actually really appreciated that other moms (and dads) were there to ask questions I hadn’t thought of. My husband also enjoyed the class and was really happy he came. For us it reinforced our goal to breastfeed for at least a full year, but by no means was the class preachy or would I feel like a failure if we don’t make our goal. Sarah was very realistic about the challenges that also come with breastfeeding, along with the obvious benefits. I am planning to take her Back To Work class towards the end of my maternity leave so I can learn about pumping and how to keep my supply up while we transition to bottle feeding. I will recommend Sarah to all of my soon-to-be mommy friends!”
“I am training to become a Doula and took this class to up my knowledge and education. Sarah’s class was informative, fun, supportive, and incredibly comforting for the mamas and their partners that I was in the class with. She was honest about the struggles women can have with breastfeeding, and invaluably helpful with what to do if those situations happen. I have already recommended her to clients and other Doula’s, and recommend her to anyone reading this now.”
“I could not be happier with my experience attending Sarah’s breastfeeding basics class. She made the experience for my husband and I so comfortable and alleviated a lot of the anxiety I had about breastfeeding. From the science behind breastfeeding, building supply, pumping, transitioning back to the workplace and the plethora of myths associated with breastfeeding, Sarah addresses it all and more. I highly recommend Sarah for any of your lactation needs.”
